Who am I?

I was raised by a symphony conductor and a cellist, both currently with the
Cedar Rapids Symphony
in Iowa. Music has been a central feature in my life from the beginning. After some
quality
conservatory training, I became a free-lance musician and teacher (Suzuki and traditional methods) in
New York City. Then I got to be a principal violinist for the
Florida West Coast Symphony
where
I helped start a partnership between the Symphony and an afterschool program called Yes, You Can!
which continues to grow into its fourth year. I just finished a mid-career Masters' Degree of
Education in
Arts In Education
from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and I'm about to start teaching violin at the
Conservatory Lab Charter School
in Brighton, Massachusetts.
I'm enjoying combining my passions for music and teaching in a slightly different way, improving
my relationship with my violin again now that school is done.
