I have examined the Internet published descriptions of the education programs for many orchestras of
all sizes within the
United States. Additionally I have investigated publications of the
Symphony Orchestra Institute
,
ASOL
,
NEA
, and various
foundations and consulting agencies to look for patterns in the programs that receive funding, and strategies
to improve the
presence of a symphony orchestra within its resident community. The following are two gems of
the search.
